Annie Davey

Annie Davey uses the fictional potential of images and stories to engage with materials, sites and situations of deemed cultural importance, and to play out the shifts in status accorded to them in a era of excessive accumulation. Recently she has been using materials that have acquired the status of radical chic, playing out the tensions between their affective weight, nostalgic pull and exhaustion as flattened, consumable goods. She is currently doing a PhD at UCL looking at the mobilisation of the image of radicality in the formation of contemporary art education and was born, lives, works and will probably die in London.
