Nick Roberts & Neil Porter
Rubber Line – 2010

Info:

RUBBER LINE was a pop-up exhibition of new work by Neil Porter and Nick Roberts, supported by Camden Council.

The body of work was made individually by the artists but was the result of an ongoing dialogue between the two via their practices. The title, RUBBER LINE aimed to connote the idea of a line in the sense of a journey; a journey made from one point to another. Be it cerebral or physical, a rubber line concentrates on the idea of the line as something in a constant flexible state. Without being governed by an end point the wanderings made upon the way take centre stage.

The exhibition embraced the notion of digression exercised in an artists’ practice. It was not the aim to conclude or define an idea but to leave avenues open through a process in constant flux.
